Evolving Concepts in Aortic Stenosis: Emerging Evidence, Electronic Notifications,  and Optimal Lifetime Management

Using an interactive case-based approach, the expert faculty will discuss contemporary evidence-based management strategies for patients with aortic stenosis (AS) who may be considered as candidates for transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The faculty will present common and challenging clinical scenarios to model optimal approaches to diagnostic evaluation, risk stratification, procedural planning, and longitudinal care–all informed by the latest clinical trials and registry data on outcomes of intervention in AS.

CLINICAL FACULTY:

Brian R. Lindman, MD, MSc (Chair)
Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN

Philippe Généreux, MD
Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ

Tsuyoshi Kaneko, MD
Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO

Nishath Quader, MD
Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe the rationale for current investigations into the impact of aortic valve replacement in patients with moderate aortic stenosis (AS)
  • Address potential obstacles to timely intervention in patients with moderate to severe AS
  • Evaluate key considerations in lifetime management of AS, including long-term valve durability, safety, and efficacy data
